Abstract: The interaction between the two institutions of monarchy and religion has a long story throughout the history of Iran, and theories have been proposed in this regard; But after the occurrence of the constitutional revolution, this interaction was challenged and a new definition of it was proposed, which was formalized in the constitutional law. Of course, this approach was accompanied by ups and downs. So that during the period of Reza Shah, the role and position of the religious authorities and seminary of Qom was practically pushed to the sidelines; But after his fall, the religious forces, including a part of the clerics, became active in the social and political arenas and played a role as one of the three pillars of power (the court, the government, and the scholars), especially during the period of Mossadegh's government. The main question of the article is that after the coup that practically became the two institutions of the court and the government, what was the interaction between the Pahlavi rule and the seminary of Qom under the leadership and authority of the time (Boroujerdi)? This article, analytical-descriptive and library-documentary, shows that the post-coup governments tried to interact with the religious institution, especially the authority based in Qom area, in order to gain the necessary legitimacy for governance. However, the review of documents and reports shows some discrepancies during the interactions of the then prime ministers, Zahedi, Alaa, Iqbal, Sharif Emami and Amini, with the seminary of Qom under the leadership of Borujerdi.
