In the existing researches on the Islamic Revolution, the role of marginal masses has often been ignored. Accordingly, the present study deals with the sociological analysis of the activism of marginalized women in Tehran. The main issue of this explains how this group transformed from the position of object to activists. In this regard, two sub-questions are followed: First, how did their mechanisms of activism in light of resource constraints? And second, how did this participation affect the redefinition of their identity in local institutions and their social life? The findings show that these women transcended traditional forms by using "unconventional resource mobilization" and informal social capital, and the link between religious values and local support networks provided a platform for them to redefine their identity. This activism not only changed the balance of power at the micro level and social institutions, but also by organizing limited resources, turned women from this stratum of society into activists in the protests in the process of the revolution. The data of this research have been collected through the analysis of historical narratives and presented with a descriptive-analytical approach.
