One of Reza Shah's programs during his rule was cultural unification, which was manifested in the form of clothing for Iranian men and women. This cultural policy was a very difficult task considering the vastness of the territory, population dispersion and ethnic-religious diversity of Iranian society. To achieve this policy, Reza Shah took advantage of western models and what had happened in the neighboring country (Turkey) and in the first step, he approved the uniform uniform law in December 1307.With the approval of the law, men and women everywhere in Iran and from every class and stratum had to wear uniforms that had specific definitions in the regulations, and disobeying the law would have dire consequences for the violators. Uniform dress law was also implemented in Sabzevar city. The research seeks to answer this question: How and with what methods was this cultural policy implemented in Sabzevar and its subordinate villages and how did the residents react to it?The current research has investigated the implementation and actions of the people of Sabzevar and subordinate villages with a descriptive-analytical method and relying on archival documents. The obtained results confirm that Reza Shah's authoritarian cultural policy was not successful in a small city like Sabzevar and the villages, the change in cultural phenomena requires the passage of time and gradually, and it is never implemented by compiling and issuing instructions and directives.
