Provide the required information as follows:
First Name and Last Name: It is recommended that you enter your name in English (Latin characters) to ensure international visibility and recognition.
Email Address: Preferably use your institutional or university email address. Additional email addresses may be added to your ORCID account later if desired.
Password: Create a strong password that meets the security requirements displayed on the registration page.
Choose the visibility level for your ORCID record. This setting determines who can view your profile information.
Authors are generally advised to select "Everyone", as this maximizes the visibility of their scholarly activities and facilitates integration with publishers, funding agencies, and research institutions.
After completing the CAPTCHA verification ("I'm not a robot"), read and accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, then click the Register button.
Check your email inbox for a message sent from noreply@orcid.org. If you do not receive the message, please check your spam or junk folder.
Click the "Verify your email address" link provided in the email.
Once your email address has been verified, your unique 16-digit ORCID iD (e.g., 0000-0001-2345-6789) will be activated. You are advised to save this identifier for future use.
Obtaining an ORCID iD does not require completion of your profile. However, to take full advantage of ORCID's services, authors are encouraged to complete the following steps:
Add your institutional affiliation, educational background, employment history, research interests, and other relevant professional information to your ORCID record.
You may import your publications and other scholarly works automatically by linking your ORCID record to databases and services such as Scopus, Crossref, and other trusted indexing platforms.
Maintaining an up-to-date ORCID profile ensures that your scholarly outputs are accurately attributed to you, increases the visibility of your research, and facilitates integration with publishers, funding agencies, and research information systems worldwide.
